The Assault on Reason

I’m currently reading Al Gore’s new book The Assault on Reason, it is very interesting and insightful. It is about the lack of discourse within society. It’s a great read so far, I highly recommend it. Also, many people are trying to get Al Gore into the current US presidential race, but I’m doubtful that he will run, in numerous interviews he’s said he no longer enjoys politics. Gizmodo tested out the new iTunes Plus service in comparison to the old 128kbps DRM-ed tracks. I haven’t tried this yet because I very rarely purchase music, and never from iTunes, but I do happen to have very good ears and all the mp3’s in my library are at least 160 kbps, headphones also matter a great deal.

“Google’s Street View feature for Google Maps, which enables users to see certain parts of several big US cities through panoramic images, has caused a new trend: StreetSpotting (we just invented that). We’ve gone through the avalanche of reports about funny, weird or even sexy things spotted on Street View, and chosen 15 that we like most.”
